Under the Radar

It’s the month of love, and what better way to celebrate than with a love song? We came across this "Old but Golden" piece by the BIB Band – Lil Down Low (Mereko Maba).

We came across this design studio that doubles as a cultural library - old photographs, documents, oral histories from across the continent and diaspora. The sort of content you don't see often in the mainstream.

We found a research project trying to document the meanings and origins of as many Ghanaian place names as possible; their article on postage stamps is a good starting point. It walks through a variety of stamps featuring towns, landmarks and cultural moments, and explains the fascinating place names and history behind the images. Worth poking around. Read more
